Crep Connects with Gon Oliver

With his love of sneakers deeply ingrained in many of his ensembles, and his toes dipped into his new fashion entrepreneurship, ‘No Time To Waste’, we thought we wouldn't waste any time catching up with Gon Oliver to chat about this exciting year for him so far, from growing his brand to keeping his style game strong.

Read the full interview below:

Crep Protect: Hey Gon Oliver, thanks for taking the time out of your day to chat with us. How has life been treating you this year?

Gon Oliver: It’s been a crazy but exciting year. A lot of new projects, travels, and creative challenges. I’ve been pushing myself more than ever, but honestly, that’s what I love. I feel like 2025 has been a year of growth, both personally and creatively.

CP: For anyone who hasn’t come across you and your work yet, how would you introduce yourself?

GO: I’d say I’m a content creator who’s all about fashion, sneakers, and visuals with personality. I don’t really stick to one specific style: I like to experiment and keep things fresh. What matters to me is inspiring people not to be afraid to take risks, whether that’s in how they dress or how they live. Fashion should be fun, expressive, and a way to show who you are in that exact moment.

CP: Can you take us back to the moment you realised fashion and sneakers were more than just a hobby for you?

GO: It actually started really naturally. I used to take photos with my girlfriend at the time: she was studying photography, and I always liked putting outfits together and experimenting with style. We started shooting just for fun, posting a few pictures online, and it slowly began to grow.

Then brands started reaching out, and we realised there was something there. From that moment on, it just evolved into what we do full-time today… creating content, building projects, and turning that passion into something real.

CP: This year, you’ve launched your own fashion brand, ‘No Time To Waste’. How did this come about? What story are you trying to tell through it?

GO: Since the beginning, when I started working with other brands, I always used to say, “one day I’ll create my own brand, one day I’ll shoot a campaign for something that’s mine”. I’ve always had this dream of making my own clothes. I have so many ideas in my head that sometimes I don’t even know where to start, but finally I just decided to do it.

Starting No Time To Waste has been such an exciting step for me, because it’s about creating things that feel personal.

"I want people to feel the same way I did, that there’s no “right time” or “perfect moment” to start something.

You just have to go for it and chase what you love. That’s really what the brand stands for."

CP: As a Portuguese native, what is the fashion scene like in Portugal? Do you think there are any similarities or differences between the UK/US fashion culture?

GO: The fashion scene in Portugal has been growing a lot lately… there’s a new wave of creatives bringing fresh ideas and personality. I think we’re slowly building something really special here. People are starting to take more risks and express themselves more through fashion, even though I still feel like we play it a bit safe sometimes.

It’s really cool to see that we’re growing… small steps, but we’re coming. The UK and the US have always been ahead in terms of influence and culture, but Portugal has so much potential. The energy is changing, and it’s exciting to be part of that.

CP: Can you walk us through how you’d put together an outfit to complement your sneakers?

GO: It really depends on the day… sometimes I start with the sneakers, other times it’s the jacket, or just a random piece that catches my eye. There’s no real formula; I just follow what feels right in that moment.

But yeah, sneakers can completely change a look. They set the tone. You can have the simplest outfit, but the right pair instantly gives it character!!

CP: At Crep, we’re all about protecting the sneakers you love. Could you talk us through how you look after your collection?

GO: People who are close to me, my friends and family, always end up asking me to clean their sneakers, because they know how careful I am with mine. I know sneakers are made to be worn, but I still like to keep them in good shape. Even if they’ve been through a lot, when they’re on the shelf, they’ve got to look clean.

CP: What would be your top 3 sneakers of all time and why?

GO: I already have a few of my dream pairs, like the Nike Air Force 1 x Louis Vuitton collab. I’ve always loved Air Forces, so that one was special. I’ve got two, but I’d still love to get one of the wild colorways… like the golden ones!

And I’d also love to have the Nike x Off-White Air Jordan 1 “Chicago.” That pair is just iconic.

CP: What would you like to see change in the fashion/sneaker industry in the next 5 years?

GO: I’d like things to slow down a bit. Everything feels too fast now.. new collections every week, new trends every day, and it kind of kills the excitement. People don’t even get the time to really enjoy something before it’s already old.

"I’d love to see more meaning behind what brands do. More focus on storytelling, on quality, and on building real connections instead of just hype.

Fashion should make you feel something again."

CP: We’re almost at the finishing point of 2025. Are there any exciting projects you can share with us for 2026?

GO: 2026 is going to be a big year for me. I’ve got new collections coming for No Time To Waste, some really exciting collaborations, and I want to keep pushing the brand to an international level.

There’s a lot I’ve been working on quietly… new ideas, new visuals, and ways to take things further. I’m just really focused on evolving and creating things that feel fresh and personal.

CP: What piece of advice would you give to the younger generation who are into fashion and want to create their own platform on social media?

GO: Don’t overthink it, just start! Everyone waits for the perfect timing or perfect setup, but it doesn’t exist. Be consistent, be yourself, and don’t try to copy what everyone else is doing.

The only thing that really works long-term is being genuine. People can tell when something’s real. And don’t stress about having everything figured out… no one does. Just keep learning, keep creating, and enjoy the process.

CP: Thanks, Gon Oliver! We appreciate the interview. Are there any lasting words you’d like to share with the Crep Family?

GO: Honestly, just thank you for having me. I’ve been using Crep for years, so it’s cool to finally connect like this. You guys have been part of the culture for a long time, and that deserves respect.

And to everyone reading: enjoy, have fun, and don’t let anyone tell you how you should look or dress. Just do you, that’s where real style comes from.
