Nike hails back to its origins with the arrival of the Nike Air Max 1 ‘Since '72’
Joining its roster of archival designs issued by the Beaverton brand, the Nike Air Max 1 ‘Since '72’ is yet another testament to Nike’s rich innovation, and energising spirit towards revolutionary sneaker design.
Although this year marks 60 years of Nike, it was 1972 that left an indelible mark on the Beaverton lineage and the hearts of sneaker enthusiasts across the globe, celebrating the brand’s transition from Blue Ribbon Sports to Nike Ltd.
The Nike Air Max 1 ‘Since '72’ honours this pivotal milestone through the titular use of a ‘Limestone’, ‘Cream’ and ‘Fire Reds’ that characterise the upper. Buttery accents of suede inscribe the side panels and heel offering a velvety feel up top.
Sturdy leather wraps around mudguards, underlaid by airy inserts of breathable mesh which ensure things are well-ventilated throughout. Swoosh detail accompanies the sidewalls, while ‘Nike Air’ branding offers that extra slice of brand nostalgia.
Visible Air units posited in the midsole deliver some extra cushioned goodness throughout the fit, while underfoot, the treaded outsole offers traction-enhancing grip with each step.
Although a release date is still under wraps, we expect the Nike Air Max 1 ‘Since 72’ to make its debut in early Summer 2024, so keep your eyes peeled for any further updates from Nike and selected retailers regarding this special release.
Don’t miss out on your chance to own a piece of Nike history with the Nike Air Max 1 ‘Since '72’.
