Nike Celebrates Chinese New Year with the Dunk Low ‘Year of the Snake’

As the Lunar New Year approaches on January 29, 2025, sneaker enthusiasts have their eyes on Nike’s upcoming ‘Year of the Snake’ collection.

Nike Dunk Low 'Year of the Snake'

Continuing a tradition that began in 2002, Nike’s homage to the Chinese Zodiac brings fresh designs inspired by the zodiac animal of the year. For 2025, the iconic Dunk Low joins the serpentine celebration, delivering a blend of heritage and creativity.

Design Details:

This special-edition Dunk Low strikes a perfect balance between subtle sophistication and bold flair. The base features olive green leather across the toe box, quarters, and collar, giving the shoe a grounded, earthy tone. Off-white nubuck overlays add contrast and texture, while hints of snake-inspired details inject the theme in style. A striking red snakeskin tongue and snake-patterned lining pay homage to the Lunar Year’s reptilian muse.

Nike didn’t stop there. Metallic pastel green Swooshes shimmer on the side panels, accentuated by a bold red zig-zag stitch for a pop of personality. The brown embroidered mini Swoosh on the toe and a sleek metallic green back tab round out the design. Every detail, from the intricate stitching to the serpentine aesthetics, reflects the thoughtfulness Nike puts into their Lunar New Year collections.
