Pimp My Closets Vol.1: Britt Waters dives deep into her sneaker archives and we add a crate or two to her growing collection
At Crep, we love a transformation. Whether it is upgrading your beaters to give them a fresh look, or ensuring that your most goated pair of sneakers get the TLC treatment, we care about your collection. For us, it’s more than just stacking boxes or filling every corner of your room—it’s about true sneaker care.
So that’s why we want to make a change. Introducing our all-new Pimp Your Closet series, where we change the lives (or closet space) of sneakerheads who want to take their sneaker space to the next level.
Arriving first to our hot seat is our very own brand ambassador Britt Waters. We flew over to the US pond to give her sneakers an all-new sleek storage solution with our Crep Protect Crates.
Check out our full interview below:
CP: Hey Britt, it’s lovely to catch up with you since the last we spoke, how have you been?
Britt: Things have been so good. I’ve been blessed to be able to prioritise family time this year while still growing at work and exploring new fun opportunities.
CP: It’s been over a year since you were announced as our first-ever female ambassador, could you tell us about how your journey has been with us so far?
Britt: The journey has been great. Crep Protect is family and I’ve made so many memories in just the last year. I sat my dad on the Crep throne at Got Sole Philly and cleaned his shoes on Father’s Day. I got to experience Dubai with Riz and learn about the story behind the brand and some exciting new things coming to Crep.
I even had Crep wipes handy at my sister’s wedding and gave the groomsmen some shoe cleanings. Crep Protect is truly a part of my life. I’m constantly excited about more things we can do and create and different spaces we can enter together.
CP: What exciting projects and hosting ventures have you been involved in this year? What has been the highlight for you so far?
Britt: This summer was so special for me. I hosted the USA Men’s Basketball games in Abu Dhabi ahead of the Paris Olympics. It was so nice to be around iconic star power as a part of an amazing show and working with top-tier talent and people who have seen me grow as a host.
International NBA fans are so enthusiastic and so entertaining, the crowds were next level and I got to do it in front of some of my Crep family. Yes, the aura around Olympians is different from my day-to-day and is certainly something I’ll never forget or take for granted. Plus there is now a photo of me working alongside Lebron James on my parent's mantel at home so they gained some bragging rights.
CP: NBA season has just kicked off and being the host for the Washington Wizards we know there’s going to be some heat on your feet, what sneakers are we expecting to see you rocking this season?
Britt: This is my sixth season with the team and I still get excited to hit the court, connect with fans and get them excited. My kicks are always a great conversation starter. I like to rock different brands and fun silhouettes. My go-to game shoes will return... Cherry 11s, vast grey glitter 11s, what the fours... All in our team colours.
We do have a new city edition colourway debuting in the winter so I can pull out light blues and rotate in my Balvin 2’s that light up and my off-white university blue dunks. This year our dance team also gifted me a custom wizards-themed hand-painted sneaker done by a local artist. It’s beautiful what an honour.
For our home opener, I actually rocked rhinestone platform heels. It’s rare for me to be in heels, but I like to include them occasionally. Women are not a monolith. We don’t have to be sneakerheads or wear heels. We can do both and do it well. I feel responsible for showing that side sometimes and to keep people guessing.
CP: This year has been an exceptional year for sneaker releases, what has been your favourite?
Britt: Surprisingly my most worn and favourite pick-up was the New Balance x Jack Harlow rose runners. They’re comfortable and so unique looking and spice up so many fits. I was on the fence about copping but glad I did. The Jumpman Jacks are also in heavy rotation for me.
CP: We recently did a revamp of your sneaker space with our Crep Protect Crates, how are you finding your all-new sleek storage solution? What do you like the most about our Crates?
Britt: I’m obsessed with the look and functionality of my sneaker room. We had fun putting it all together too. I’ve been getting asked for years to show off my collection so I’m glad we were able to do it. I’m constantly decorating and getting new shoes so the room is ever evolving. My favourite part is how protective the cases are. I pick out kicks at 2am during the week so the ease of organisation has been so important. I used to dream of having a display like this and I cannot wait to help others get their kicks organised.
CP: 2025 is only a couple of months away and it’s the 40th anniversary of the Jordan brand, Are there any sneaker releases/ rumours you looking forward to?
Britt: The drop I’m most anticipating is the 2025 re-release of the Jordan Grape 5’s. Those originally made me fall in love with sneakers after seeing them on the Fresh Prince of Belair show when I was younger. I neeeed to get my hands on a new pair.
CP: What are your top 3 Crep Protect products that are a must-have for your sneaker rotation?
Britt: Crep spray is an easy number one. The way to have clean kicks is to not let them get dirty so protection against rain and stains is key. Second is the wipes.. Perfect on the go and shows the ease of keeping shoes clean. I can also wipe down my friends’ kicks if needed. I’ll never be the only one fresh. The FoamX is so easy to use and honestly fun. I foam and clean my kicks after a night out with a glass of wine by my side and no mess.
CP: Thank you for the interview Britt! Are there any final words that you would like to share with the Crep Protect Family?
Britt: Thanks for having me. My goal is still to show sneakerheads that it’s ok to wear your favourite shoes and still take care of them. Life is too short to keep sneakers in the box. I’m so excited to continue that message and to also represent women in the sneaker game as well.
